Verbal Eyes wrote and designed Baby & Me , a unique parenting curriculum for clients of the WIC nutrition program in Arkansas.
Parents with new babies visit with mentors, who provide information about infant safety, stress reduction, and positive parent-child interactions.
Arkansas is the first state to develop a WIC service of this nature.
The challenge in writing a guide was to ensure all mentors cover the same content while also encouraging individualized conversation.
Verbal Eyes writers chose a “conversation map”
format. It provides a loose script for mentors and includes prompts to invite parents to speak.
